Yahoo! News - Ind. Police Arrest Alleged Panty Thief: LEBANON, Ind. - Investigators say they’ve charged the man responsible for stealing panties and bras from women’s homes for the past two years.
Gary A. Wright, 35, of Jamestown, was being held Sunday in the Boone County Jail. He has been charged with eight counts each of theft and burglary, all felonies, said Amy Clouse, Boone County Sheriff’s Department communications officer.
Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Albert Hendrix testified in a probable cause hearing Thursday that Wright had entered the homes of at least eight people and had stolen underwear, food, money and cleaning supplies.
“He said he had a fetish with women’s bras and underwear,” Hendrix testified. “He said he liked to smell them; then he would dispose of them in trash Dumpsters.”
And people think we’re boring and not very cosmopolitan here in the Midwest!

Having looked at the (admittedly bad) pictures, I can’t say that this looks to be among the gems of FLW’s work. In fact, it seems a little doubtful to me that it actually is his work, but rather seems to be the work of a couple of his first generation apprentices.
Nonetheless, it does deserve to be preserved rather than being used as a whorehouse for Islamic fundamentalist militias. I can’t say I’m surprised at its fate, though - combine the hatred for the United States with the well-deserved hatred for the Iranian royal family, and dose liberally with the penchant for Islamic fundamentalist nut jobs to wreck any bit of decoration or architecture built by “infidels” (Afghan Buddhas, anyone?), and you can see how this bit of architecture is doomed.
Not, of course, that we’ve done a heck of a lot better here, mind you, with less excuse.

I downloaded and registered Bookpedia last night, and began the mammoth task of finally cataloging my library. I chose Bookpedia for three reasons - first, all I have to do is input an ISBN number and it pulls nearly all of the remaining book data from Amazon and the Library of Congress by itself, second, it works a lot like iTunes, an interface that’s proven itself a good one for dealing with collections of stuff, and finally, because it supports barcode readers.
Of course, I threw away my CueCat reader a couple of years ago when we moved, thinking I’d never, ever use it. Anyone know where I can get my hands on one, cheap?
