I went to the doctor today to have my blood pressure evaluated. As expected, it was very high. The doctor seems to think it’s mostly due to heredity, and some due to weight. I have an initial batch of medicine to start taking, and then I’m supposed to return to see her in a week to have it checked.
I’ve managed to dodge this for the past decade at least. My genes have finally caught up, it seems.

A couple of weeks ago I started using Firefox as my primary browser. It rocks (even more so than Safari), but I have had one significant frustration. In my office, I use a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse. I’m very used to using the scroll wheel to not only scroll pages, but by clicking it to follow a link in a new tab. This works in Safari, but not in Firefox.
Fortunately, others have gone here before me. Here’s the scoop on getting an Intellimouse working right not just in Firefox, but throughout OS X.

I have a not inconsiderably Amazon wish list. I use my wish list as a “holding area” for books, music, and movies I plan on eventually buying, though not always from amazon.
Unfortunately, this wish list isn’t easily portable, and of course I can’t remember everything on it when I’m at a book, music, or movie store. I’ve tried several methods for carrying it with me, most particularly Ryan Holcomb’s tip for printing it out so it fits in the pocket of a Moleskine. None of these seem to work that well for me - my list is just too damn long and unwieldy.
This weekend it occurred to me that in addition to using Plucker to keep track of my GTD next action lists, I could also use it to sync a local copy of my Amazon wish list right to my Palm. Now, every time I sync Plucker, I end up with the latest and greatest version of my wish list in handy searchable form right on my T3, ready for easy access next time I’m in Border’s. Sweet!
